Reflective Practice
Reflective Practice is a way for individuals to start building a framework of professional practice, regardless of the role they hold within an organization or agency. Conscious effort is partner to intention, meaning that by examining our actions, our thoughts and feelings, our standpoints and motives, we can learn and grow as individuals and as professionals. Reflective Practitioners strive towards professional competence and accountability, thus increasing the potential for organizational effectiveness in the communities they serve.
Motivational Interviewing
A client-centered, goal-oriented approach to enhance the motivation and follow-up support in facilitating change with individuals you serve. It is rooted in empathy and active listening with topics including the trifecta of change and the stages of change being highlighted.
Mental Health First Aid
This training is offered through AHVNA and facilitated by certified facilitators through the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Mental Health First Aid is designed to educate participants about various mental illnesses and provide support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Similar to physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid is offered until professional help is available or the crisis is resolved.
The Working Minds for Employees
This training is offered through AHVNA and facilitated by certified facilitators through the Mental Health Commission of Canada. This is an evidence-based training program designed to promote Mental Health awareness and understanding in the workplace. Through strengthening communication skills and breaking down stigma, workplace teams can help to cultivate a safe, supportive workplace environment.
Impacts of Intergenerational Trauma
Touches on the current realities Indigenous communities face and increases awareness on the need for specific, Indigenous cultural supports in service delivery. This workshop will explore the legacy historical processes and policies continue to have on Indigenous Peoples and provide suggested ways participants can heal together from these impacts.
Creating Culturally Safe Practices
Touches on the current realities Indigenous communities face and increases awareness on the need for specific, Indigenous cultural supports in service delivery. This workshop will explore the legacy historical processes and policies continue to have on Indigenous Peoples and provide suggested ways participants can heal together from these impacts.
Traditional Indigenous Parenting
This training thoughtfully covers topics around colonization, traditional parenting, and reclamation & revitalization of a culture. Participants will also have the opportunity to develop a much greater awareness of the traditions of Indigenous People before Canada, develop an awareness of colonization and its tools of oppression, gain an understanding of colonization and its impact on Indigenous People and their families, and learn of Traditional Indigenous Parenting Program practices.

This session is designed to provide practical strategies and resources for managing life’s challenges. In this session, participants will explore ways to enhance mental health and well-being in both their workplace and home environments.
Introduction to Assessments and Tools Workshops
This training series is designed to introduce (or provide a refresher on) the most commonly used evidence based/evidence-informed assessments and tools used with families, youth, and children. Each session will cover a different assessment or tool, and is designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and skills to effectively use evidence-based/evidence-informed assessments and tools in supporting positive outcomes for families, youth, and children.

Kimochis For All
This training introduces you to the Kimochis® tools that invite families and children to explore and learn ways to work through their big, and hard to have feelings. This training will be valuable for front line workers in programs focused on early childhood (0-6 years of age), in home, community, and school environments, as they support children, and build caregiver engagement.
