Family Resource Network Trainings

Child and Youth Development Series

This comprehensive training series is designed to support Home Visitors, Family Resource Network Practitioners, and other professionals who work with families and children aged 0 to 18 years.

- The First Year                  - Ages 7-10

- Ages 4-6                          - Ages 15-18

40 Developmental Assets

The 40 Developmental Assets are a framework by Search Institute that identify key factors that help young people grow into healthy, responsible adults.The 40 Developmental Assets are concrete, common sense, positive experiences and qualities to raise successful young people. The more assets a young person has, the more likely they are to succeed in school, make positive choices, and thrive in life.

Developmental Relationships

Developmental Relationships are close connections through which young people discover who they are, cultivate abilities to shape their own lives, and learn how to engage with and contribute to the world around them. Participants will explore the importance of these Developmental Relationships and learn the five elements of the Search Institute’s Developmental Relationships Framework and how to express it with 20 specific actions.

Kimochis for All

This training introduces you to the Kimochis® tools that invite families and children to explore and learn ways to work through their big, and hard to have feelings. This training will be valuable for front line workers in programs focused on early childhood (0-6 years of age), in home, community, and school environments, as they support children, and build caregiver engagement.

Effective Facilitation

This is an engaging and interactive workshop aimed at providing participants with the core skills and techniques needed to lead inclusive, productive, and energizing group sessions. Through practical exercises, large and small group discussions, and other media aimed at enhancing learning, participants will gain the confidence and tools needed to become a more impactful facilitator in any professional or community setting.

Male Caregiver Engagement

This training is designed to develop the skills, understanding, and confidence needed to effectively engage and support male caregivers. Participants will explore the unique experiences and strengths that male caregivers bring to their roles, while gaining insight into the social and cultural factors that may influence their participation in services.
