Boundaries in Support Relationships

Boundaries in Support Relationships refers to the decisions that must be made to maintain professional relationships. This session will dive into different types of boundaries to consider and an opportunity to reflect on others that may be relevant to your own practice.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Care aims to create a safe and empathetic space for children and families accessing services. This session focuses on understanding of the effects of trauma so participants can embed it into practice.

Relationship Based Practice

This session is intended to increase the knowledge and understanding of what a relationship-based practice is, the benefits and challenges in creating a relationship-based practice and how to implement it in their work with children and families.

Closing with Care

This session is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively transition and close family care files. Participants will learn how to navigate the sensitive process of file closure while ensuring families feel supported and empowered after they have accessed services.

Mental Health First Aid

This training is offered through AHVNA and facilitated by certified facilitators through the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Mental Health First Aid is designed to educate participants about various mental illnesses and provide support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Similar to physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid is offered until professional help is available or the crisis is resolved.

Taking Care of You

This session is designed to provide practical strategies and resources for managing life’s challenges. In this session, participants will explore ways to enhance mental health and well-being in both their workplace and home environments.

Male Caregiver Engagement

This training is designed to develop the skills, understanding, and confidence needed to effectively engage and support male caregivers. Participants will explore the unique experiences and strengths that male caregivers bring to their roles, while gaining insight into the social and cultural factors that may influence their participation in services.

Kimochis for All

This training introduces you to the Kimochis® tools that invite families and children to explore and learn ways to work through their big, and hard to have feelings. This training will be valuable for front line workers in programs focused on early childhood (0-6 years of age), in home, community, and school environments, as they support children, and build caregiver engagement.
